Hiking through the sandstone formations of Plaza Blanca is one of our favorite things to do.  The area was made famous by Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings and became known by her as “The White Place”.

Hiking Pedernal is an adventure. It is about 7 miles round trip.  People hike the mountain in all seasons, but the class 3 wall can be difficult in winter months. Pedernal is located very close to The Casita del Lago and more directions are included inside the home.
